EQR’s shoreline protection and repair work has included a
variety of soft and hard engineering techniques. Our goal is to
stabilize high energy shorelines while also protecting habitat
and providing an aesthetically pleasing end product.
EQR’s
work has included bulkheads, beach dune construction and
replenishment, vegetated reinforced soil lifts, rock mattress
foundations, harbor seawalls and stone revetments.
Our crews employ several techniques to be able to maximize work periods
in relation to tides without compromising safety, including the use
of coffer dams and scheduling of work around low tides. Our
personnel are also experienced using different types of turbidity
curtains to control sediment flows and keep migratory species out of
the work areas.
